P5 and Podium Push for PTR Triumph in Assen World Supersport

Racing Triumph Motorcycles 14th Apr 2025

Tom Booth-Amos started round three of the FIM Supersport World Championship in strong form, qualifying second for the opening race at the TT Circuit Assen.

He was running fourth on the opening lap when a two-rider crash at Turn 5 brought out the red flag. A quick restart procedure was initiated, and the race was shortened to 12 laps.

Booth-Amos initially dropped to seventh after the restart but fought hard to regain ground, eventually crossing the line in a solid fifth place. His performance included the seventh-fastest lap of the race, securing him a third-row start for Sunday’s race two.

In the 18-lap second race, the Shropshire rider charged from seventh to third and was battling for second when he unfortunately slid out of podium contention. Booth-Amos was able to remount and rejoin the race, salvaging 15th position despite riding without a screen following the crash. He retains third place in the championship after a dramatic Dutch round.

It was a challenging weekend for teammate Oli Bayliss. The Australian rider lined up 12th for race one but crashed out unhurt after the restart. Starting 13th in race two, a technical issue brought an early end to his race, rounding out a tough weekend.

The PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team returns to action in three weeks for the Italian round at Cremona on 2–4 May.

Tom Booth-Amos #69:

“It was looking like a really good result but unfortunately as soon as I touched the throttle the front end folded and that was that, luckily enough I got back on and got a point so we just need to concentrate on Cremona and get back on the top of the podium.”
